Maruti Suzuki reports 14.4% growth in April sales

New Delhi : India’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India has reported 14.4% growth in total sales at 172,986 units in April 2018. This includes 164,978 units in domestic market and 8,008 units of exports. The Company had sold a total of 151,215 units in April 2017.

Export sales of the company has witnessed a jump of 19.1% from 6723 units in April 2017. Domestic sales has also witnessed 14.2% growth from 144,492 units in April 2017.

Interestingly, the light commercial vehicle segment which includes models like Super Carry has reported record 275.7% growth at 1544 units from only 411 units in April 2017.

In the passenger car segment Maruti-Suzuki has witnessed 15.7% growth at 126,744 units, backed by 31.8% growth in the compact car segment at 83,834 units. Sales in the mid-sized segment which includes a model like Ciaz  has witnessed 27% drop.
