Maruti Suzuki February sales up 12% on recovery in domestic demand, Shares up 1.7%

New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki India, India’s top car seller, has reported 11.8 per cent growth in its overall sales at 16,44,69 units in February 2021 as against 14,7110 units in Febriary 2020.

Total sales in the month include domestic sales of 147,483 units, sales to other OEMs 5,500 units and exports of 11,486 units.

Total domestic sales of the company grew by 9.9 per cent to 147483 units. The export sales also grew by 11.8 per cent to 11486 units. Passenger car sales surged by 6 per cent to 105,986 units.

In the April-February 11 months period, Maruti Suzuki’s overall sales has dipped by 12.8 per cent to 12,90,847 units. Domestic sales dipped by 13.6 per cent to 11,73,878 units. The drop in cumulative sales during the 11-months is mainly due to zero or minimum sales during the lockdown days earlier this financial year.

Maruti Suzuki had reported a sales growth of 4.3 per cent in January 2021 at 160752 units. Its domestic sales had remained flat at 142,604 units.

Shares of Maruti Suzuki was at Rs.6989.70, up by 1.7 per cent on the BSE at 10.45 am IST Monday.
