Markets surge ahead of RBI credit policy announcement, Adani shares continue to recover

Mumbai : Indian equity markets open on a positive note on Wednesday ahead of the RBI credit policy announcement.

The BSE Sensex is up 143.75 points or 0.24 percent at 60,429.79. The NSE Nifty up 49.80 points or 0.28 percent at 17,771.30. About 1326 shares have advanced, 731 shares declined, and 123 shares are unchanged.

Adani Enterprises, the flagship company of Adani Group, continue to surge for the 3^rd consecutive session with a gain of 10 percent to Rs.1983.20. Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone gain by 6.61 percent by Rs.589.70 on the NSE at 9.45 am Wednesday.

Other gainers on the NSE are Hindalco, Ultratech Cement, SBI life. On the other hand, the top losers are Bharti Airtel, Heromotocorp, Bajaj auto and Eicher Motors.
