Chennai : The 2nd installment of Vetran actor Kamal Hasan starrer Viswaroopam-2 will hit screens on 10th of August. The spy thriller will be released in Tamil, Hindi and Telgu.
The August 10 date has been carefully chosen, as it is just 5 days before the 15th August Independence day. So the Spy Thriller with nationalistic touch will get the usual Friday-Sunday weekend and the next Wednesday is the Independence Day which could provide it good opening.
However, the movie will face strong challenge from Akshay Kumar Starrer Gold. The periodic sports drama is based on the India’s first Olympic Gold medal in 1948 summer Olympics.
Before that, all eyes are on the trailor of the movie to be released at 5 pm today. While Bollywood Mr. Perfectionist Amir Khan will launch the Hindi version, the Tamil version will be launched by Kamal’s daughter Sruti Hasan and the Telgu version will be launched by Junior NTR.

Announcing the release date Bollywood Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “Kamal Haasan announces the release date of #Vishwaroopam2: 10 Aug 2018… Trailer today [11 June 2018] at 5 pm… Directed Kamal Haasan, it has been shot in Tamil and Hindi and dubbed in Telugu… Poster announcing the release date”.
The film has been directed by Kamal Haasan and is a sequel to the original 2013 release ‘Vishwapooram’.
