Bangalore: The results trend in Karnataka strongly indicates a BJP government in the state after a gap of 5 years. However, the party is currently leading at 108 seats, still 4 seats short of the magic number of 112. The Congress is leading at 73 and JDS is leading at 40 seats.
The market has also responded the verdict with a positive note with sharp rise in Sensex and Nifty in the opening hours. However, latter the indices could not sustain the gain and currently Sensex is trading at 35,707.19 points , a gain of 150 points and Nifuty at 10,847.45, a gain of 40.85 points.
