Mumbai: Indian indices opened on strong note on February 1 with Nifty above 17,500 ahead of the Union Budget 2022-23.
The BSE Sensex was up 544.97 points or 0.94% at 58559.14, and the NSE Nifty was up 145.70 points or 0.84% at 17485.50. About 1510 shares have advanced, 473 shares declined, and 65 shares are unchanged.
Infosys, ICICI Bank, Maruti Suzuki, Britannia and Tech Mahindra were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were BPCL, Tata Motors, IOC, ITC and Bajaj Auto.
