India’s Recovery cases surpass active cases, Tally climbs to 2.76 lakh

Bhubaneswar: With nearly 10,000 new cases, India’s COVID-19 tally climbed to 2.76 lakh including 7745 deaths by Wednesday morning.

As per the latest data released by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, India’s total cases rose to 276583 by Wednesday morning. The total number includes 133632 active cases and 7745 deaths while 135206 people have been cured and discharged from hospitals.

With record 5893 recoveries India’s recovery rate has improved to 48.88 per cent while 274 patients died in the last 24 hours and the death rate has remained unchanged at 2.8 per cent.

Meanwhile, as many as 145216 samples were tested in the last 24 hours out of which  9985 samples were found to be positive. With this, the country has tested total 5061332 samples till the 10th of June with a positivity rate of 5.37 per cent, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said.

The situation in Maharastra has remained grave as the total number of confirmed cases has surpassed the 90 thousand mark including 44860 active cases and 3289 deaths. Maharastra is followed by Tamilnadu and Delhi with 34914 and 31309 confirmed cases.

Global cases climb to  7238723

The Coronavirus has continued to wreak havoc in the world as the tally has climbed to 7238723 including more than 4.11 lakh deaths as on Wednesday morning. The United States has remained the worst affected country in the world with 1.97 million cases and 1.11 lakh deaths. The USA is followed by Brazil with 7.39 lakh cases and 38406 deaths and Russia with 4.84 lakh confirmed cases and 6134 deaths.
