India reports 2.76 lakh daily cases, daily death toll drops to 3874

New Delhi: India’s daily recoveries continue to outnumber fresh cases as the country reported 2.76 lakh fresh cases against recoveries of 3.69 lakh in the last 24-hours. Number of deaths also declined to 3874 after registering record 4529 deaths in the previous day.

According to the data released by Union health Ministry, India has reported 276070 fresh cases and 3874 deaths in the last 24-hours (ending 8 am today). With this India’s COVID-19 tally has increased to 25772400 while death toll has touched 287122.

Meanwhile, over 369077 lakh people recovered yesterday taking the total number of recoveries to 2,23,55,440. Due to high number of recoveries, the number of active cases further declined to 31,29,878.

Despite slight spike in daily cases, India’s Test Positivity Rate (TPR) has remained stable at 13 per cent 13.4 per cent against almost 18 per cent on Sunday. The drop in TPR is mainly due to testing of record 20 lakh samples yesterday.
