India makes history as first privately made rocket lifts off from Sriharikota

Bhubaneswar: India government controlled space agency ISRO successfully launched the country’s first privately made rocket from Sriharikota at 11.30 am Friday.

“Launched! Vikram-S makes history as the first private rocket of India to grace the skies. We thank you all for being with us for this momentous occasion” Twitted SkyrootA.
The startup further said “89.5 Kms peak altitude achieved. Vikram-S rocket meets all flight parameters. It’s history in the making for India.”

 

The vehicle is named Vikram S –a tribute to the father of India’s space programme, Vikram Sarabhai. The racket has been developed by four-year-old startup Skyroot Aerospace.

“We made history today by launching India’s first private rocket. It is a symbol of new India, and just the Prarambh of a great future” said Pawan Kumar Chandana, Co-Founder Skyroot Aerospace.
