India becomes 3rd country to cross 4 lakh COVID toll

New Delhi: With 853 more deaths in the last 24-hours, India’s COVID-19 death toll has crossed the 4 lakh mark.  After USA and Brazil, India has now become the third country globally to cross 4 lakh deaths.

According to the data released by the Union health ministry the country has reported 46,617 fresh cases and 853 deaths in the last 24-hours. As many as 59,384 infected people have recovered from the infection during the period. With this, India’s covid-19 tally and death toll have risen to 3,04,58,251 and 400,312 lakh respectively. Active cases also dropped to 509,637.

Yesterday India vaccinated over 42.64 lakh taking total number of vaccinations to 34 crore.
