New Delhi: The Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday announced that the government will lunch affordable rental housing complexes for migrant workers and urban poor under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY).

Under the scheme, the government-funded housings in cities will be converted into Affordable Rental Housing Complexes (ARHC) under Public Private Partnership mode (PPP) through concessionaries.

The finance minister also announced that Government of India will provide interest subvention of 2% for prompt MUDRA-Shishu Loans payees for a period of 12 months; Relief of Rs 1500 crores to MUDRA-Shishu loan payees.

Government has decided to extend the Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) for the middle-income group (annual income Rs 6-18 lakhs) up to March 2021. 2.5 lakh middle income families are likely to benefit during 2020-21. The scheme will lead to investment of over Rs.70 thousand crore in the housing sector.
