Double whammy for the common man as OMCs hike Oil and LPG gas prices

Biznextindia: In a double whammy for the common man, Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) on Wednesday hiked both oil and domestic LPG prices.

The public sector oil marketing companies have further increased Petrol prices by 30 paise and Diesel prices by 35 paise. Following this hike, Petrol is now being sold at Rs.102.94/litre and Diesel is being sold at Rs.94.53/litre in Delhi.

In Mumbai both the fuels are being sold at Rs.108.96/litre and Rs.99.17/litre respectively. In Chennai, Petrol is being sold at Rs.100.49 and Diesel at Rs. 95.93 per litre.

Oil companies have also raised domestic 14.2 kg cylinder prices by Rs. 15. The price of a non-subsidized 14.2 kg LPG cylinder in Delhi is now being sold at Rs 899.50. The new rate of 5kg cylinder is now Rs 502. The new rates are effective from today. In Mumbai, a cylinder is being sold at Rs.899.50.

This is the fourth straight increase in the coocking fuel in less than 2 months. Also, the prices of the cylinder has become costlier by Rs.205 since January1, 2021.
