New Delhi: The Mahayuti alliance, led by BJP, is on track for a historic landslide victory in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, potentially surpassing the 200-seat milestone—a first for any alliance in the state.
As of 11:00 AM, the ruling coalition, comprising the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Shiv Sena (led by Eknath Shinde), and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) faction led by Ajit Pawar, was leading in 216 out of 288 seats. In contrast, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), consisting of the Congress, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena faction, and Sharad Pawar’s NCP group, was ahead in just 51 seats, while independent and smaller parties were leading in 20 constituencies.
Within the Mahayuti, the BJP emerged as the dominant force, leading in 127 out of the 149 seats it contested. The Shinde-led Shiv Sena was ahead in 54 of its 81 constituencies, while Ajit Pawar’s NCP faction led in 35 of the 59 seats it contested.
INDIA ahead in Jharkhand
In Jharkhand the INDIA alliance led by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) is heading towards a comfortable victory. As of 11 am INDIA alliance is leading in 48 seats while the NDA is leading in 29 seats. Within INDIA, the JMM is leading in 30 seats and the Congress is leading in 13 seats and RJD is leading in 5 seats. On the other hand, within NDA, BJP is leading in 26 seats.
