Maruti Suzuki August sales up 17% to 124,624 units

New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki India Limited, India’s largest car seller, has reported 17.1 per cent (YoY) growth in its August sales at 124,624 against 106,413 units in August 2019. On a month-on-month basis, the company has reported 15.3 per cent growth as compared to 108,064 units in July 2020.

Total sales include domestic sales of 115,325 units and 1,379 units for other OEMs. In addition, the Company exported 7,920 units in August 2020, a drop of 15.3% over August 2019.

However, in the April-August period, the company’s cumulative sales has dropped by 50 per cent to 309,287 units, against 618,271 units in the corresponding period in FY20. The domestic sales in the 5 month-period has dropped by 50 per cent to 285,038 units against 571,548 units in the corresponding 5 months in FY20. Exports have also dropped by 48 per cent to 24,249 units.

“The Company remains committed to the health, safety and well-being of all members across the value chain. All production and sales continue to take place fully consistent with all safety requirements for employees and customers” said the company.
