Maruti Suzuki announces price hike of Swift and CNG Models upto Rs. 15,000

New Delhi : Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest seller of passenger vehicles on Monday announced price hike of Swift and all CNG models upto Rs. 15,000. The company has attributed the price rise to increase in input costs.

The company has also indicated price hike of other models which will be announced shortly.

“With reference to our earlier communication dated 21st June, 2021, Maruti Suzuki India Limited today announced a price change for Swift and all CNG variants owing to increase in various input costs. Increase in Ex Showroom Prices (Delhi) is up to 15,000 INR on the above models. The new prices are effective from today i.e.12 th July, 2021.The price increase in other models is planned shortly and shall be intimated accordingly said MSIL in a regulatory filing.

In Jun 21, Maruti Suzuki India announced that it would hike prices of its vehicles in the second quarter (July-September) owing to rise in input costs.

“Over the past year the cost of the Company’s vehicles continue to be adversely impacted due to increase in various input costs. Hence, it has become imperative for the Company to pass on some impact of the above additional cost to customers through a price rise. The price rise has been planned in quarter 2 and the increase shall vary for different models” the company had said last month.
