Bajaj Auto May sales up 114% on impressive export sales

Biznext india : Bajaj Auto, India’s largest seller of three-wheeler vehicles and second largest seller of two-wheeler vehicles has registered 114 per cent growth in its May’21 sales at 271,862 units against 127,128 units in May 2020. Overall, domestic sales grew by 52 percent to 60,830 and exports grew by 145 percent to 180,212 units.

The company has registered 113 per cent growth in two-wheeler sales at 240,554  as against 112,798 units in May 2020. Domestic two-wheeler sales grew by 54 per cent to 60,362, while exports up 145 percent to 180,212 units.

However, the company’s sale of commercial vehicles has remained a cause of concern as the domestic commercial vehicles sales dropped by 38 per cent to 488 units. But the company has recorded a 128 per cent jump in export sales at 30,820, which has helped the overall commercial vehicle sales to grow at 118 per cent to 31,308 units. Bajaj’s range of commercial vehicles are mostly comprises of three-wheeler vehicles like auto rickshaws, light pick-ups.

During the April-May  two-months period, Bajaj Auto has registered 300% rise in overall sales at 659,878  units mainly due to minimal sales during the corresponding months last year.
