FM tables Economic Survey FY22 : GDP growth estimate for FY 23 at 8-8.5%

New Delhi : Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday Tabled Economic Survey 2021-22 in Lok Sabha. The Survey projected a GDP growth of 9.2% in the current financial year, while, growth will moderate to 8-8.5% in 2022-23 financial year.

While, the Agriculture sector is projected to grow at 3.9%, Industrial sector is poised to grow at 11.8 % and Service sector is projected to grow at 8.2% in 2021-22 financial year.

The Economic Survey usually prepared by Chief Economic Advisor (CEA), but this year, in the absence of CEA, it was prepared by Principal Economic Advisor. The post of CEA was remain vacant following K. Subramanian’s term ended in December. Last Friday, the government of India had appointed V.Anantha Nageswaran as the new CEA.

The Economic Survey, in simple terms is a annual report card of the economic. This year’s survey has been prepared in a single volume.
