NewDelhi : Within hours of executing Operation Sindoor in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), in response to the Pahalgam attack, the Indian government and Armed forces issued a strong warning to its neighbor on Wednesday, cautioning against any “misadventure” that could escalate tensions.

The government emphasized that the operation specifically targeted terrorist camps involved in planning and executing past attacks on India, as well as those preparing for future assaults. It was clearly stated that no Pakistani military installations were struck during the operation.

“There were no attacks on military establishments, and we have no reports of civilian casualties,” said Wing Commander Vyomika Singh during a joint press briefing with Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri. “The Indian armed forces are fully prepared to respond decisively to any Pakistani provocation that could worsen the situation,” she added.

Wing Commander Singh further confirmed that nine terrorist camps were identified and successfully destroyed, with careful planning to ensure no harm came to civilian infrastructure or lives.

Colonel Qureshi added, “The targets were selected based on credible intelligence and confirmed involvement in cross-border terrorism.”
