Cochin Shipyard bags Rs.10,000 crore order from Indian Navy for supply of 6 next generation missile vessels

Biznextindia : Public sector shipbuilding and maintenance company Coachin Shipyard Ltd. has bagged an order worth Rs.10,000 crore from Indian Navy to supply 6 next generation missile vessels. The company has bagged the order after declared as the lowest bidder in the Tender floated by the Navy.

“We would like to inform that at the meeting held today at the Ministry of Defence, New Delhi, Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has been declared as L1 in the tender floated by the Indian Navy for construction of 6 nos. of Next Generation Missile Vessels (NGMV) and the estimated total order value is around Rs. 10,000 crore” said Cochin Shipyard in a regulatory filing.

The Navy had floated the tenders (called Request for proposals or RFPs) in July 2, 2019 worth over Rs.15000 crore for a range of warships including six ‘buy Indian’ next generation missile vessels.
