Paradip Port completes movement of 30 vessels within 24 Hrs, breaks its own record

Bhubaneswar : Paradip Port has created a record in vessel movement by successfully completing movement of 30 vessels within 24 Hrs. beginning from 7.30 AM on 27th May, 2019 till 7.30 AM this morning. It includes 10 incoming vessels, 9 outgoing vessels, 3 shifting of vessels and 8 shipping support vessels. The Previous record stood at 27 vessels handled by PPT in a period of 24 Hrs on 15thOctober 2018, the port has informed.

This kind of shipping movements is enormously contributing to enhance the cargo throughput of the Port. At present, 39 vessels are still awaiting at the anchorage to enter the harbour.

  Paradip Port is now gearing up to enhance the Cargo throughput as it is vying for the coveted top position in the Country with a slew of other infrastructure and modernisation facilities of the Port. Last fiscal, it clocked 109.27 MMT Cargo handling mark and secured 2nd position among the Major Ports of India. This fiscal, it is aiming for 120 MMT Cargo handling mark.
