Bhubaneswar: Mukesh Ambani controlled Reliance Jio has announced Happy New Year Offer. For Smartphone customers the company provides 1 year unlimited service at Rs. 2020. The unlimited includes daily 1.5 GB data, unlimited voice call, unlimited SMS and access to Jio apps.
Apart from this Jio has announced a separate ‘Jiophone Happy New Year offer’ through which customers can get a Jiophone with 12 month unlimited service. The unlimited includes daily 1.5 GB data, unlimited voice call, unlimited SMS and access to Jio apps. This is a limited period offer starting from 24th December.
Tariff hike to improve Jio’s ARPU
On December 6th, Reliance Jio had hiked its tariff upto 39% by announcing an ‘All-in-One’ plan. Through this tariff hike, Jio aims to improve its ‘Average Revenue per User (ARPU) to further consolidate its position as the top revenue earner in Indian Telecom Industry.
According to a report by CARE Ratings, the recent price hike will improve the ARPU of the company, which was marginally declined in the second Quarter.
“The Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) of the company for Q2FY20 had however, come down to Rs.120 per subscriber per month from Rs. 122 during Q1FY20 partly attributed to higher mix of low-ARPU Jiophone with some customers shifting to lower tariff plans. The same is expected to improve with the recent hike in tariffs, resulting in incremental revenue as well as improvement in profitability” said CARE Ratings.
