Biznextindia : Tata Motors, India’s largest commercial vehicle maker has reported 25% drop in its domestic sales at 38,057 units in November. Total domestic sales in the April-November period has slipped by 32% to 303542 units, against 447,532 units during the corresponding period last month.
The company’s commercial vehicle sales during the month has dropped by 19% to 30,588 units. Cumulative sales of Commercial vehicles during April-November 8 months has dropped by 30% to 237,549 units.
“As we move closer towards BSVI transition, focus continues to be gradual stock reduction, with retail sale in November being higher than whole sale by over 10%. Medium and Heavy Commercial vehicle sales grew by 23.6% over previous month, as enquiries continue to increase gradually, with fleet owners realizing the economic benefits of replacement of their older vehicles. Overall system stocks being at a multi-quarter low, coupled with increasing enquiries for replacement demand, will help firm-up volumes and realizations in next few months” said Mr. Girish Wagh, President, Commercial Vehicles Business Unit, Tata Motors Ltd.

On the other hand Tata Motors’ passenger vehicle sales has dropped by 39% to 10,400 units in November, against 16982 units in November 2018. The cumulative sales in the first 8 months has also dropped by 39% to 86412 units.
