Monsoon makes onset over Andaman & Nicobar Islands, to touch Kerala by 29th May

NewDelhi : Bringing relief to the Government, Farmers the South-West Monsoon has finally arrived over some parts of the Andaman& Nicobar Islands, south-East Bay-of Bengal and South Andaman Sea, the Indian Meteorological Department said today.  The Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) is currently passing through latitude 5°N and longitude 80°E, 8°N and 87°E, Car Nicobar and 11°N and 99°E.

“Southwest Monsoon has advanced into South Andaman Sea, some parts of South Bay of Bengal and Nicobar Islands. Conditions are favorable  for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some parts of South Arabian Sea, Comorin-Maldives areas; some more parts of South Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea and Andaman & Nicobar Islands during next 48 hours. Conditions are very likely to become favorable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of South Arabian Sea, Lakshadweep, Comorin area, South Kerala, South Tamilnadu, some more parts of south Bay of Bengal, remaining parts of Andaman Sea and some parts of east-central Bay of Bengal during subsequent 48 hours” IMD said.
