Bhubaneswar: Public Sector Iron Ore miner NMDC has reported 8.7% drop in its annual Iron Ore Production at 32.47 Million Tonnes (MT) in the 2018-19 Financial Year from 35.58 MT in FY 2018. Out of this Chattishgarh contributed 23.39 MT and Karnataka contributed 9.08 MT. Anuual sales has also dropped to 32.39 MT from 36.07 MT in FY18.
The company has produced 4.04 MT Iron Ore as compared to 4.26 MT in March 2018. The miner has Sold 3.59 MT in March 2019 as compared to 4.15 MT in March 2018.
The drop in production is being attributed to the suspension of Donimalai Mine operations for 5 months, no exports upto August 2018, highest rainfall in Bailadila Sector and poor off take in Karnataka in Q1.
