Odisha to auction 9 more Iron Ore, Manganese Blocks, Notice Inviting Tender on 14th Oct

Bhubaneswar:  Within a span of 10 days Odisha is ready with another 9 mining blocks for auction. These 9 blocks include 3 Iron Ore blocks, 5 Iron Ore-Manganese Blocks and 2 Manganese blocks.

The state government on Saturday cleared a proposal for auction.  Notice inviting Tender (NIT) for the auction will be issued on 14th October.

This is the 4th mining auction by the Odisha government this year. On 4th of October the government had issued NIT for auction of 10 mining blocks.

The 9 blocks likely to be auctioned include Bada Iron Ore Block of Serajudding Mines, Gorumahisani block of GS Mishra and Badam pahar of Lal Traders. While the Balda block Iron Ore, has estimated reserve of 210 million tonnes, Gorumahisani has 18 MT and Badam Pahar has 6 MT Iron ore reserve.

The 5 Iron Ore –Manganese blocks are Rungta’s Jajang block in Keonjhar District, Nadidihi and Tehrai blocks of BICO in Sundargarh District, Rangalbeda-Nandikasira of Feegrade & Company and Kalmong of Rungta in Sundargarh District.

The Two Manganese Blocks likely to be auctioned are Katasahi in Keonjhar District and Kantahar-Koira in Sundargarh district. These two blocks are currently held by Rungta & Sons.

Lease period of these blocks will expire by 30th March 2020 under the MMDR (Amendment) Act 2016. The auction process will be conducted electronically by MSTC ltd.
