Mumbai : Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Jio on Wednesday announced that it would charge voice calls to other operators at six paise per minute. Meanwhile, Jio has introduced special IUC Top-Up vouchers to the prepaid customers, which will provide free minutes to non-Jio mobile numbers. In addition, these IUC vouchers will come with free data as well. The IUC Top-Up vouchers are available at Rs 10, Rs 20, Rs 50 and Rs 100. These vouchers are for Jio prepaid customers, and for the company’s post-paid users, calls to other mobile numbers will be charged at six paise per minute with an increase in free data entitlement.

“For all recharges done by Jio customers starting today, calls made to other mobile operators will be charged at the prevailing IUC rate of 6 paise per minute through IUC top-up vouchers till such time that TRAI moves to Zero termination charge regime. Presently, this date is 1st January 2020. Jio will provide additional data entitlement of equivalent value based on IUC top-up voucher consumption. This will ensure no increase in tariff for customers” Jio said in a regulatory filing.

Jio has also assured its subscribers that, the 6paise per minute charge on outgoing off-net mobile calls shall continue only till the time TRAI abolishes IUC, in line with its present regulation.
